Show Notes

A play on the triumph and losses in performance and life.  The Talent Tank podcast will navigate the inner workings of lifestyle, lives, family, teams, careers, programs, and technology in and around the offroad motorsports industry.  What breeds success with your Talent Tank on full, failures when its on empty.  From the journey to the Starting Line to take that Green Flag, on to exploring trials and tribulations on and off the track in pursuit of victorious achievement and the Checkered Flag.

Episode 4 gets Loren Healy @loren_healy into the Tank for a dive in on breadsticks, being a professional off-road racecar driver, self-promotion, the racing school of hard knocks, strategic partnerships, hard work, and successes that earned him the King of the Hammers scepter twice.  With a huge game changer in his future.

After the Checkered Flag-
The so-called "slickrock" sandstone, which forms the majority of the rock formation surface  of Choke Cherry Canyon in Farmington, NM has a surface much like sandpaper, making it extremely grippable by the rubber tires of offroad vehicles from Jeeps and Rock Crawling buggies to mountain bike or off-road motorcycles. The texture is notorious for inflicting severe abrasion injuries, but yielding extreme amounts of traction.

The term "slickrock" was used by early settlers of the west to describe the sandstone because of the low traction between horses' metal shoes, as well as the metal hoops of wagon wheels and the rock's sloping surfaces.  Making traversing it very difficult and dangerous as horses would slip and fall, or wagons would slide down slopes injuring the horses or the settlers riding in the wagons.
